Quality Craftsmanship. Results Driven. Client Focused.
Since 1946, when Fred Mortensen Sr. began the business, Mortensen Woodwork has been obsessed with quality, from design to delivery. Whether we are starting from a blueprint or the back of a napkin, our designers bring your unique vision to life with finishes to match any aesthetic taste or existing woodwork and do it in any species of wood. Today, MWI is a nationally recognized full-service, turnkey woodwork manufacturer based in Atlanta, GA, producing over $40 million of fine interior fixture and perimeter woodwork each year.
Mortensen Woodwork takes great pride in the fine, old-world craftsmanship that goes into its every project. A family-run business for two generations, Mortensen Woodwork combines today’s cutting edge modern production technology with the hand-crafting skills brought to America by its European founders. The result is interior furniture, fixtures, and perimeter woodwork with an artistic quality and character unmatched in the woodworking industry today.
Design Assistance & Engineering
The design phase is vital to a project’s outcome. MWI provides design assist, working directly with the owners and architects, to reduce the cost and potential delays while improving the constructability and adding value.
Our Pre-Construction team creates a detailed budget, works closely to fully understand the design intent, and provides value assisted materials and construction methods that help support client interior finish budgets. Our team has the talent and vision required to bring your design to life.
Project management is a team collaboration effort. Each project is supported by a Senior PM, Lead Engineer, and Field Supervisor, and has the full support of our Pre-construction and Operations departments.
Our install teams are comprised of both in-house and subcontractor partners with the ability to install standard wage, union, and prevailing wage projects. We focus on maintaining the highest level of safety and quality by focusing on early trade coordination efforts, scheduling, and job / field site layout understanding.
MWI is known for our world class woodwork. Our team specializes in handcrafted, custom-made wood that is showcased in the interior of a building. Our beginnings stem from the finest quality and craftsmanship in furniture and have expanded to cabinets, seating, shelves, wall paneling, molding and more.
